SOS Children's Villages in Syria is a nonprofit and nongovernmental, independent, social development association. The Association is committed to help orphans and destitute who had lost their homes, their security and their families because of different circumstances, respecting varying religions and cultures, working in communities where our mission can contribute to their development and working as well in the spirit of the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child, advocating and promoting such rights in the Syrian Arab Republic.

    SOS Syria has opened a new SOS Children’s Village in Damascus to address the need for additional alternative care for children. With space for 80 children in 10 apartment homes, the second SOS Children’s Village in the Syrian capital will become home for many children who have lost parental care or are waiting to re-join their biological families.

  • Memorandum of understanding

    On 09/08/2017, SOS Children's Villages signed a memorandum of understanding with the ministry of foreign affairs in Syrian Arab Republic, aiming to reactivate the work of the Organization's office in Syria which represented by SOS Children's Villages Syria that was founded in 1975 and which is a branch of the International Federation of Children's Villages, based in Austria, and spread out in 135 countries around the world.

  • "The Sun" Photography exhibition

    SOS Children's Villages in collaboration with ministry of Culture in Syria held the photography exhibition "The sun" by the photographer Fares Haj Ebrahim in Damascus Opera house gallery. The exhibition aims to shed the light on children's suffering during Syrian crisis,Knowing that the income of the exhibition will be for SOS children's benefit. each picture from the collection has a different story and gives mixed feelings to the audience who leave the gallery while thinking that, no child should suffer like this.

  • Cooperation with the Ministry of Culture

  • New goodwill ambassador for SOS Children's Villages Syria

    On 11/3/2017 the Syrian star of the voice kids program Zein Obeid was appointed as the goodwill ambassador by SOS Children's villages Syria in the presence of his family members and SOS management. Zein said in the ceremony of his appointment that he is going to give his full support to our children whom he considers now as brothers and sisters , and that he is very happy to be a new member in SOS family

    Due to its responsibility on child protection and responding to humanitarian appeal by providing families with essentials and relief needs, the SOS Children's Villages distributed over 10000 food aid baskets, between January and August 2014, to Internally Displaced People in Damascus & countryside, Homs and Daraa. Each basket meets a family's nutrition needs for containing basic foodstuff and infant milk.
